On the West coast of Hawaii, sites this national park called Pu’uhonua o Honaunau. It was basically a place where Hawaiians could escape death (during battle/having broken laws etc) and also the home of a series of Chiefs. It’s amazing. The bay it encloses is full of turtles that you can see from the shore.. (We went back a few days later to snorkel and were lucky enough to swim next to one) and it’s one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever been to.
