Agrigento, on the Southwest of Sicily, is pretty much a horrible city. No offense to it’s inhabitants, but it was noticeably less attractive than the other places we stayed on the island. It possibly didn’t help that our hotel was dire but that’s another story. What it did have going for it however, was a massive archeological site of various ruins which, while blisteringly hot, were great to explore. Our hotel room actually looked out onto a Greek temple which was an awesome way to wake up. Next time though, we’ll just make it a day trip.
